Finally settling in...

I am embarrassed to see that it has taken me over 2 months to update the blog, and so much has happened!  Here's the short version to get you up to date...
  • The tummy aches turned into a major flu outbreak in the Lindley household.  Steve and I both got it the night before we were supposed to move to Dubuque.  Needless to say, we made it here, just a few days later than planned.
  • We also had to put our dog of almost 11 years down a week after we moved.  Bailey was having a really hard time with the transition and was having physical issues.  We took him to the vet and found out he had a tumor around his heart.  With heavy hearts, we all spent one last night and morning with him, loving on him and sitting with him, then we set him free.  We miss him so much, but know it was for the best.
  • Emmy and Aiden both learned how to ride bikes.
  • Zoe got signed up at a wonderful Christian preschool.
  • Steve survived 5.5 weeks of Greek and received an A!!!  The kids and I attempted unpacking and received a C...all in good time.
  • Emerson Rose turned 7 and was the first Lindley to celebrate a birthday in Iowa.
  • We sold our house in Mt.Horeb and closed on it August 31!  We are no longer home-owners, and that is music to our ears!
We are now a few weeks into the regular school year, and we are finally settling in.  Steve is keeping busy with his reading and studies and is also the "Coach" of the Wartburg basketball team...The Running Reformers.  The season begins the end of October, and we are all very excited!  Emmy is on the cheerleading team, so it's a family affair!  The kids have started Lindley Homeschool and are doing well.  They love having their own "classroom" downstairs to work in.  No more kitchen/dining room school for us!  Zoe has started preschool and loves it, although she keeps calling it Glory Bees (her old school that I worked at).  Brigham is cutting lots of teeth, trying to talk a ton, and is running everywhere and climbing everything.  As for me, I've somehow managed to juggle being mom/wife/chauffeur/chef/laundry/Scentsy lady.  It's a crazy life, but I do love it.

My next entry will be much more thoughtful and not just a laundry list of happenings. :)  Life here is good, better than I ever expected it to be.  We are very blessed to not only have our old family back in WI, but to have new and amazing friends here as well.  God has amazing plans for us, and I can't wait to see where they take us!
